LIT 2024

A line drawing of a bridge above the words Library Instruction Together, Bridging the Gaps, 2024.

This year, LIT’s in-person conference retreat will take place on Friday, May 10 at the Nashville (TN) Public Library, starting at 10am (arrive as early as 9:15 to sign in and grab a coffee).

The virtual conference will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, May 22. We’ll send participants an email with session links that morning. Registration for both events is now open via the Tennessee Library Association (TnLA) website:

More details, including session descriptions, are available at LIT Retreat 2024 and LIT Virtual Conference 2024.

You can also now download the full program (for both the Retreat and the Virtual Conference) as a PDF.

Many thanks to everyone who submitted a conference proposal based on this year’s theme, “Bridging the Gaps”!

One goal of Library Instruction Together is to bring together librarians from across various corners of the profession—from academic and special libraries to those serving K-12 schools and the public. But it’s not always easy to make these connections outside of our own professional specialties, which led us to wonder… How do you “bridge the gaps” in your own work? On that note, our call for proposals sought sessions that would discuss topics such as (but not limited to):

  • Reaching out to multiple generations of patrons
  • Forming partnerships with new stakeholders
  • Collaborating with colleagues from other institutions and across types of libraries
